The Malta College of Arts, Science and Technology is seeking to hire Part-Time Researcher to work on the SmartShield project.
SmartShield focuses on developing a smart sensor integrated into satellite shields to detect and quantify damage caused by space debris, which poses a significant threat to satellites in the expanding satellite market. As the number of satellites launched annually is expected to exceed 300 by 2026, with a market worth billion, the need for effective debris impact detection and assessment is crucial.
Applicants must possess a Bachelor Degree MQF Level 6 in the field of electronics.
Additionally, applicants should have the following competencies:
• Designing digital circuits and printed circuit boards (PCBs)
• Programming microcontrollers.
Work experience in research and electronics will be considered an asset.
