Expression of Interest for Nurses to Be Engaged as Mentors for Nursing Students.  ​

MCAST has the pleasure to invite 1st Level Registered Nurses in the grade of Staff Nurse and above to act as nursing student mentors for the MCAST-Northumbria BSc. (Hons.) Nursing Studies programme.

Engaged mentors shall be remunerated at the rate of €250 per student.

To be considered eligible, nurses need to be in possession of either of the following:

1. Be a registered nurse and have a formalized nurse mentoring programme by a recognized institution plus a minimum 2 years full-time nursing or midwifery experience.

Or

2. Be a registered nurse and have a Relevant Masters’ degree plus a minimum 2 -year full-time nursing or midwifery experience.

Or

3. Be a registered nurse and have a First degree in nursing studies or an SRN (traditional nurse/midwife) in employment since 1990 plus minimum 3 years full-time nursing or midwifery experience and the aptitude/willingness to follow a nurse mentoring programme over 12 months. ​

Vacancies will be filled if and when openings become available. Successful candidates will be called to fill existing vacancies in accordance with the order of merit.
