Description

The Malta College of Arts, Science and Technology is seeking to recruit a Part-time Researcher for the CONNECT Project (‘CONNECTing Marine Data to serve Society’). The project is funded through the Office of the Parliamentary Secretary for Youth, Research & Innovation, and is under the coordination of the Principal Investigator Prof. Aldo Drago.

 

The CONNECT project shall seek to support the harvesting, management, access and sharing of marine data for multiple purposes and to diverse categories of users. It is about CONNECTing data to support and service society. The Project will connect key actors to share assets and resources through clustering initiatives related to marine data acquisition and applications, including data from space platforms. Marine data and Information is generated to serve different targets. Marine observations (including space-based earth observations) and data from numerical models provide essential systematic information on the state variables of the sea and marine ecosystems, aiding a number of users and applications.

*Qualification/s presented must be in the field of: Electrical/Electronics Engineering.

The selected candidate would ideally be acquainted to the use of electronic sensors, power rig and comms system for telemetry and data logging and data transmission in real time, with technical skills to integrate electronic devices to be prepared for deployment and collecting data in the sea.  

The remuneration is €26 per hour.
